The Story Behind Opaline
Sometimes, looking at the perfect finish of a set of nails, my mind travels back in time. I'm Melisa Mustelier Delgado, born in Havana in the year 2000. My story didn't begin in a luxury salon, but with an immense desire, a few basic tools and a huge dream. Seven years ago I decided that the art of nails would be my life. I started literally from the bottom, working magic with the few resources I could find in Cuba. There were hard, frustrating days, but every obstacle taught me to be resilient. I understood that I wasn't just painting nails — I was building self-esteem and creating small works of art. Over time my technique refined and my vision grew. I no longer wanted to be just a manicurist; I wanted to create an experience and a standard of quality. That is how Opaline by Mely was born. Being the CEO of my own project is the result of thousands of hours of practice, constant training and an uncompromising perfectionism. Today my art has crossed borders. Sharing my life in Belgrade alongside Dany, surrounded by a visual and photographic world, drives me to be even more meticulous and refined at Opaline. Seven years in this career have shown me that success doesn't depend on where you start, but on your passion and the strength with which you choose never to give up.
